Heel Pain
Heel pain is most often caused by plantar fasciitis, a condition that is sometimes also called heel spur syndrome when a spur is present. Other causes for heel pain may include a stress fracture, tendonitis, arthritis, nerve irritation or a cyst. Plantar fasciitis is an inflammation of the tissue that connects the heel bone to the toes, and may require physical therapy, shoe inserts, steroid injections or possibly surgery, depending on the severity of it.
